Juan Carlos Gallo

I’m Juan Carlos Gallo, a designer, developer, and creative technologist based in Miami.

My work begins with design, visual systems, motion, video, storytelling, interactive media, and extends into AR, VR, real-time 3D, AI-assisted workflows, and spatial computing.

I’m interested in what happens when digital experiences become part of physical places. Over the past decade, I’ve worked across augmented reality, virtual reality, immersive media, public art, cultural activations, and interactive storytelling. While the tools continue to evolve, my focus has remained consistent: creating experiences that connect people, information, culture, and place.

Today, much of my work is centered around projects like AR Miami, AR Asheville, and Third Room. These projects explore a simple idea: what if cities, venues, museums, galleries, storefronts, and public spaces could have their own interactive digital layer?

Although many of today’s experiences are accessed through phones, I design these systems with a longer horizon in mind. I see them as early experiments in a future where digital information is woven directly into the environments around us — making places more interactive, discoverable, and meaningful.

My background in biology, visualization, data science, machine learning, design, and immersive technology has shaped the way I approach this work. I tend to think in systems, looking for ways to make complex ideas more tangible through storytelling, interaction, and spatial design.

Whether I’m building a citywide AR platform, a museum experience, an AI-assisted guide, a gamified spatial system, or an immersive venue activation, I’m interested in the same question:

How can technology help us experience the world around us in richer and more meaningful ways?

Recent Focus

AR Miami
Developing a citywide augmented reality platform that transforms physical locations into interactive digital experiences through geospatial content, holographic media, cultural storytelling, public art, local discovery, and location-based interaction.

AR Asheville & Third Room
Building a gamified spatial platform that combines marker-based AR environments, interactive quests, collectible systems, rewards, passport mechanics, holographic content, and AI-assisted experiences designed for real-world venues and communities.

Spatial Computing & Geospatial Experiences
Exploring how digital content can become a persistent layer attached to physical places, connecting cities, museums, businesses, events, and public spaces through immersive technology.

AI-Assisted XR Development
Integrating AI tools, agent workflows, architecture documentation, generative media pipelines, and iterative development processes to accelerate the design, prototyping, and deployment of interactive spatial experiences.

Interactive Storytelling & Cultural Experiences
Creating immersive experiences that combine technology, narrative, art, and place to help people engage with culture, education, history, tourism, and community in new ways.

The Future of Ambient AR
Designing systems with a long-term vision for spatial computing, where digital experiences move beyond phones and become woven into everyday environments through future wearable and AR technologies.
