<image:title>Work - Moksha VR 2020 (The Burning Man Metaverse)</image:title>
<image:caption>In 2020, when Burning Man went fully digital for the first time, the Moksha Arts Collective brought its visionary art and community spirit into the virtual realm, reaching a global audience like never before. I collaborated with Moksha to design and manage their presence within the Burning Man Multiverse, building immersive virtual spaces where artists and participants could gather despite the global shutdown. We hosted dozens of artists who shared live performances, digital exhibitions, and interactive installations inside the VR world. These events were not only experienced by participants in virtual reality but also broadcast as livestreams, allowing audiences around the world to tune in and be part of the moment. Over the course of the festival, hundreds of visitors joined the Moksha VR space, exploring 3D environments, interacting with holographic art, and taking part in conversations and cultural exchanges that extended the Burning Man ethos into new frontiers. This project demonstrated the power of XR to sustain community, creativity, and collaboration even in times of isolation. By bridging VR, livestream, and global participation, Moksha’s presence at Burning Man 2020 set a precedent for how cultural organizations can thrive in hybrid digital-physical festivals of the future.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - George Merrick AI Avatar - Testing in Augmented Reality</image:title>
<image:caption>Visual design is also flexible. The appearance of the avatar can be defined in detail, clothing, facial features and style, so that it fits a specific time, place, or narrative. Adding a backstory helps guide how the character responds. A guide from the 1920s will interact differently than a traveler from the future or a fictional figure placed in a themed environment. Context plays an important role. Characters can be given knowledge boundaries, a setting to inhabit, and instructions on how to handle certain topics. This helps them remain consistent across longer interactions, rather than drifting out of character. Taken together, these elements make it possible to place avatars in AR who feel anchored in both the story world and the real environment around them.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - Juan Carlos Gallo</image:title>
<image:caption>I'm Juan Carlos Gallo, a designer, developer, and spatial computing creator based in Miami. My work explores what happens when digital experiences become part of physical places. Over the past decade, I've worked across augmented reality, virtual reality, real-time 3D, AI-assisted design, and interactive storytelling. While the tools continue to evolve, my focus has remained surprisingly consistent: creating experiences that connect people, information, culture, and place. Today, much of my work is centered around projects like AR Miami, AR Asheville, and Third Room. These projects explore a simple idea: what if cities, venues, museums, and public spaces could have their own interactive digital layer? Although today's experiences are accessed through phones, I design many of these systems with a longer horizon in mind. I see them as early experiments in a future where digital information is woven directly into the environments around us, making places more interactive, discoverable, and meaningful. My background in biology, visualization, data science, and immersive technology has shaped the way I approach this work. I tend to think in systems, looking for ways to make complex ideas more tangible through storytelling, interaction, and spatial design. Whether I'm building a citywide AR platform, a museum experience, an AI-powered guide, or a gamified spatial system, I'm interested in the same question: How can technology help us experience the world around us in richer and more meaningful ways? Recent Focus AR Miami Developing a citywide augmented reality platform that transforms physical locations into interactive digital experiences through geospatial content, AI avatars, cultural storytelling, public art, and location-based discovery. AR Asheville & Third Room Building a gamified spatial platform that combines marker-based AR environments, interactive quests, collectible systems, rewards, passport mechanics, and AI-enhanced experiences designed for real-world venues and communities. Spatial Computing & Geospatial Experiences Exploring how digital content can become a persistent layer attached to physical places, connecting cities, museums, businesses, events, and public spaces through immersive technology. AI-Assisted XR Development Integrating AI tools, agent workflows, architecture documentation, and iterative development processes to accelerate the design, prototyping, and deployment of interactive spatial experiences. Interactive Storytelling & Cultural Experiences Creating immersive experiences that combine technology, narrative, art, and place to help people engage with culture, education, history, and community in new ways. The Future of Ambient AR Designing systems with a long-term vision for spatial computing, where digital experiences move beyond phones and become woven into everyday environments through future wearable and AR technologies.</image:caption>
